Acheahuahakwa / George Ashkebug, (Estabrook, Eshabua, Eshkabag, Eskebuck) was said to be born 1835-1839 in Michigan. He had two sisters Margaret and Nancy.
George Ashkebug of Northport enlisted in company K, First Sharpshooters 9 Jul 1863 at Northport for 3 years, age 28. Mustered 20 Jul 1863. Mustered out Delaney House, D.C. 28 Jul 1865.
Records of Grace Church Branch, Second Division General Hospital, Alexandria, Virginia lists: Eskabog, George, pvt., 1 Michigan Sharpshooters, Co. K., contusion of head and eye, admitted 6 Dec 1864, released 14 Feb 1865.
George, 37, was married 13 Mar 1876 to Mary Micksawba, 36, daughter of Louis of Charlevoix

Son John born 20 Jul 1877 [from pension records]
Son Jonah / Junius born 18 Jul 1878 [from Warriors in Mr. Lincoln's Army]
1880 George moved to Northport to live with sister Margaret and her husband John Agatchie, while wife Mary and their sons remained in Charlevoix living with her father. His sons used the McSauby surname.
On 22 Mar 1884 George filed for invalid pension.

George died in 1886 and is buried in Onominese Cemetery in Leelanau county.
