Peter Amderling / Anotagon was said to be born about 1843 at La Point, Madeline Island, Ashland, Wisconsin, the son of John Baptiste Antoagon and Oshabens (Ozhobinse/Quisnoqua). Peter's sister Mary was born at La Point, while siblings Angelic, William and John were born in Ontonagon county, Michigan.
Peter enlisted in company K, First Sharpshooters, 26 Sep 1864, at Rockland for 3 years, age 26. Mustered 20 Oct 1864. Mustered out at Delaney House, D.C. 28 Jul 1865.

Pension card:
Peter's mother applied for a dependent mother's pension, but died 4 Feb 1892 before the application was processed. His Father, John, applied for a dependent father's pension on 16 Mar 1894, receiving $12 per month until his death in 1900.
